PRIDE
At Metzgar Elementary we believe in teaching our students to have P-R-I-D-E!
P-R-I-D-E is an acronym for our School Wide Positive Behavior Support Program. All students K-5 at Metzgar Elementary learn that they can show their PRIDE by being:
Prepared
Respectful
Integrity
Discipline
Effort
As part of our School Wide Positive Behavior Support Program (PRIDE) students participated in our PRIDE Behavior Bash Kick-Off Event! Students cycled through activities and lessons that taught, modeled and reinforced our school-wide behavioral expectations. Students were provided with explicit instruction on appropriate:
Playground Behavior
Hallway Behavior
Cafeteria Behavior
Restroom Behavior
Bus Behavior
We have adopted a unified set of school-wide behavioral expectations. These rules define our expectations for student behavior and are posted throughout the school. Students will be rewarded for their positive behavior through PRIDE Tickets that they will use to enter weekly drawings.
We believe that home-school communication is vital to student success. We have included a copy of the behavioral matrix for you to view, post, and discuss with your student at home. You are your child’s most important model and teacher so the more you understand about the programs being offered to your child, the more we hope you will help to reinforce and support these positive behaviors and social skills at home.
