Introducing New Staff Members

We are excited to welcome many new staff members to our Metzgar Elementary School family. 
Mrs. Erin Ewing has joined the Metzgar family as an Instructional Assistant.   Mrs. Ewing is a proud wife and mother of two and has been a familiar face at Metzgar for many years!   She has a Bachelors Degree in English from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has worked as a Substitute Teacher for the past several years.  Mrs. Ewing has always enjoyed helping others to succeed and believes that this position provides her the opportunity to continue doing what she loves. 
Miss Lauren George is the new 4th Grade Teacher She attended Marshall University on a track & field scholarship and graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Upon graduation she moved back to Greensburg and was a substitute at local school districts, frequently within the Greensburg Salem School District. Last year, Miss George served as the long-term Math and Science substitute teacher in 4th grade at Hutchinson Elementary. Miss George is excited to continue her journey in 4th grade, this time at Metzgar Elementary and in a different subject-- ELA & Social Studies!
Miss Kylie McSwaney will be an additional Kindergarten Teacher at Metzgar Elementary.  Miss McSwaney has a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Penn State University and earned her Reading Specialist Certificate working at Metzgar Elementary.  This is her 4th year in teaching having worked at Greensburg Salem Middle School and as a Kindergarten Teacher in Annapolis, Maryland.  Miss McSwaney is busy getting her classroom ready and will be starting at Metzgar at the beginning of November.
